How To Prevent Explosion Accidents in Oil Tanker Trucks

Oil tank trucks are used to transport flammable and explosive materials such as gasoline and diesel, so safety issues are undoubtedly the top priority that every driver and passenger must pay attention to during transportation. During the transportation process of oil tank trucks, the following aspects should be mainly noted:
1. Control combustibles
(1) It is necessary to prevent oil tank trucks from overflowing their storage containers. Any oil leakage, spillage, dripping, leaking, or overflow that occurs during the loading and unloading of oil in tank trucks should be promptly cleared and treated.
(2) After unloading the goods from the oil tanker, it is strictly prohibited to pour oil stains, sludge, waste oil, etc. into the sewer for discharge. They should be collected and properly disposed of in designated locations.
(3) All flammable materials should be removed near buildings such as oil tanks, warehouses, pump rooms, oil dispensing rooms, and oil blending workshops.
(4) Oil stained cotton yarn, oil cloths, oil gloves, oil paper, and other items used for maintenance and upkeep of oil tankers should be placed in covered iron drums outside the workspace and promptly removed.

2. It is strictly prohibited to drive oil tankers when fatigued
Driving a vehicle at a warm temperature in the cab results in poor air circulation, making it easy for the driver to become fatigued; Often feel mentally tired, with blurred vision and sluggish thinking, especially when driving in the afternoon or midnight, which can easily cause drowsiness and lead to traffic accidents if forced to drive. Avoid fatigue driving to ensure driving safety.

3. Pay attention to static electricity accumulation
The oil tank capacity should be appropriate: if the oil tank capacity is too low, there will be a large shaking space during transportation, which can easily generate static electricity; If too much is loaded, vehicles with poorly sealed oil tank ports are prone to overflow. Therefore, a filling rate of around 85% is appropriate. In addition, medium speed driving should be maintained during transportation to ensure that the fuel in the oil tank is relatively stable, and emergency braking should be minimized as much as possible. Connect the electrostatic wire properly to ensure that it is in contact with the ground.

4. Stay away from the flames
When driving an oil tanker, smoking, answering and dialing mobile phones are not allowed. When parking, it is also necessary to stay away from the fire and not park at the edge of the fire, which may cause an explosion accident.

5. Avoid excessive engine temperature in oil tanker trucks
In summer, it is necessary to regularly inspect the technical condition of vehicles, with a focus on checking the safety parts of the vehicles. It is strictly prohibited to drive sick vehicles on the road. During the hot summer weather, when driving a vehicle, one should always pay attention to the changes in the water temperature gauge, which should generally not exceed 95 ℃.
