Oil tank semi-trailer is the core equipment for road oil and hazardous chemical transportation.
An oil tank semi-trailer is a special tank-type semi-trailer towed by a tractor, used for transporting media such as gasoline, diesel, crude oil, and chemical liquids. It has no front axle, is loaded by the tractor and its own frame, and the tank body and running frame are the core structures.
industry applications

Classified by Axle Number: Two-axle (dual-axle) with a load capacity of about 20-30 tons, suitable for short and medium distances; Three-axle with a load capacity of about 30-40 tons, with stronger stability, suitable for long-distance trunk lines.

Classified by Medium: Fuel transport tank truck (gasoline/diesel), chemical tank truck (acid-base/solvent, requiring anti-corrosion), food-grade tank truck (edible oil/milk, stainless steel material), insulated and heated tank truck (asphalt/heavy oil).

Classified by Structure: Elliptical tank (low center of gravity, good stability), square-circular tank (large capacity), horizontal tank (suitable for multi-medium separate loading).

Main Materials |
Selection Points |
|---|---|---|---|
|
Tank Body |
Stores media, requires pressure resistance and leak-proof, thickness 4-6mm (carbon steel)/4-5mm (stainless steel)/3-5mm (aluminum alloy) |
Carbon steel, aluminum alloy, stainless steel, plastic (anti-corrosion) |
Carbon steel for fuel (low cost); aluminum alloy for lightweight (15-20% weight reduction); stainless steel/plastic for chemicals |
|
Anti-Surge Baffle |
Reduces liquid impact, enhances tank strength, with through holes at the lower end of the baffle |
Same as tank body material |
Spacing ≤1.5m, quantity matched by volume, high-pressure leak test |
|
Frame/Skeleton |
Loads the tank body, adapts to axle number and load capacity |
High-strength steel |
Must comply with standards such as GB/T 18564.1 to ensure rigidity and torsion resistance |
|
Loading and Unloading System |
Pump valve (centrifugal pump/gear pump), flow meter, reel, fuel gun |
Cast iron/stainless steel |
Corrosion-resistant pump valves for chemical media, explosion-proof design for fuel |
Operation and Maintenance Points
1. Regular Inspection: Annual water pressure/air pressure test of the tank body, inspection of valves and hoses every 3 weeks to prevent leakage.
2. Medium Adaptation: Special tanks are required for different media to avoid mixed loading corrosion; chemical tank trucks must be thoroughly cleaned after loading and unloading.
3. Safe Operation: Grounding during loading and unloading, no open flames; drivers must receive hazardous chemical transportation training and master emergency disposal procedures.
